The Devereux Center is an open-door center that helps people meet their basic needs. Of the many people that we serve, our focus is on those with mental health issues. We connect them with resources that can improve the quality of their lives.
We will achieve our vision by:
- Developing sufficient revenue sources, and a sustainable professional operation that will keep our day center open at least five days a week.
- Strengthening and improving relationships with appropriate community services, local government, and public safety partners.
- Creating sustaining housing appropriate for and affordable to people with mental illness.
- Implementing needed services for people with mental health issues such as mentoring and advocacy.
The values that the Devereux Center works hard to demonstrate for participants are:
We value who you are
We are patient
We treat all with kindness
We make eye contact
We ask permission
We answer need with resources
We are respectful
We appreciate your stories
We respect your privacy
The values with which the board members and staff treat each other include:
Direct and honest
Kind to each other
Care and concern for each other
